Cold as Stone (3 Years Later)

Three years ago, our lives changed.  We blindly boarded a plane with a few suitcases and a one-way ticket to live on the other side of the world. It’s hard to fathom that we have now called Switzerland our home for this long.  There are days when it seems surreal, and there are days when it is very real.  There are days when we feel grateful, and there are days when we feel the grind, and we complain (A lot). Tissot Peak Walk, Glacier 3000

I have never been much of a thrill seeker but I must say that I am completely drawn to the many mountain adventures and excursions in Switzerland.  Maybe I trust the “Swiss Made” persona, or maybe I am getting older and I am gradually letting go of fears and inhibitions.  Either way, the Tissot Peak Walk was something I wanted to do for months. The Great Adventure

Oh, the cravings of adventure. On one level, our family as a whole is exactly two months into our new adventure living in Switzerland. Individually, my two boys are in the midst of the “great adventure” of their lives. Living here is just a part of this “great adventure” as boys. There is without a doubt something to be said about a boys need for adventure. It is engrained within us. From infancy, boys seem to crave kicking rocks down the road, climbing trees, running instead of walking, and/or making anything into a weapon. “Men are often aggressive. They seem to have an inborn need to fight, to put themselves in…
