We had a great weekend experiencing the diverse Swiss culture.

On Saturday evening, along with our neighbors, we attended Schwingfest in the village of Richigen, Switzerland. Richigen is located next to our village of Worb. Schwingfest is a festival celebrating of one of the more popular sports in Switzerland, Mediterranean style wrestling. Although it was a weekend long festival, we went on Saturday evening to see the parade. As you can see by watching the video below, it was an awesome Swiss-German experience.

On Sunday, we decided to take a drive to an area of Switzerland that we have yet to see. We went west, which meant going into the French speaking part of the country.

We left Bern and went about an hour to the Lausanne area, more specifically, the village of Cully. Cully sits on Lake Geneva, and is located in the Lavaux region.

Within an hour we were immersed into the French culture, with its language, food, and wines. It truly is a beautiful place, surrounded by the Alps and a lake that separated us from France.

Amy and I talk daily how grateful we are to have this experience, not only for ourselves, but for our boys. This weekend was a great example of the beauty of the diverse Swiss culture, the beauty of the sights and sounds, and the beauty of the people.

All of which we are very thankful for.
